Enjoyed players in club won't re-negotioate contract

I've just won the double with Brøndby in the Danish Superliga. I have two players and a scout that won't re-negotioate their contract even though they (players) are "enjoying playing at the club" and having "no immediate plans for the future". It's not stated why they won't re-negotiate. I've tried to re-negotiate with them for the past six month with no luck. I've praised them several times (with success) but they still don't have me as one of their favoured personnel.

Is this a bug? Has anyone seen this before and know what to do? I'm thinking I might be better off selling them now as they have one year remaining.
