I've manually set up regular "friendlies" for the reserves. There is a fixture tomorrow. I started this game in 8.0.1 and the function was available then (I was using it). I don't know how I missed it because I searched and clicked through all the screens back to 13th February. Anyway, your reply is enough to convince me that the "Make Available for Reserves" function has disappeared for clubs that don't have reserve teams in organised competitions. It becomes available in the Blue Square Premier (I think) - but I'm not sure if it's open to all clubs or just full-time, fully professional ones. Make Availabe for Reserves just means your assistant can select your first-teamers for reserve matches, so it would make sense for this option not to be there if there wasn't a reserve competition. Half-time Orange Posted February 19, 2008 Author Share Posted February 19, 2008 One of the benefits of having Reserve team friendlies is that I can leave my assistant to select the most appropriate squad from those available, which includes giving match experience to my U-18s too. Setting up a first team friendly may well mean I have to pay appearance, goal and win bonuses to my players too? Do my regular starters get upset out of being omitted from the friendlies? Will the games punish me for seemingly chopping and changing my team constantly? Finally, if your suggestion does provide a feasible workaround, it isn't exactly in the spirit of the game.
