backroom advice: struggling

2 questions about backroom advices:

1) my staff always tells me that an opposition team struggles against teams playing a certain formation, tempo, width etc.. But the problem is: my own team often struggles with it as well! So, what's better: set a formation, tempo, width, defensive line that opposition doesn't like, or what what we ourselves know how to play the best?

2) my staff always tells me we struggle against teams playing 4-4-2. How to fix it?? We play 4-4-2 ourselves.

Solution: IGNORE YOUR BACKROOM STAFF! You are the manager after all...

^ Nonsense. The advice can be very useful - but not this one! If it's a formation that you have already prepared with fluid bars in match prep, it makes sense to change to it. If your players are not trained in the formation, you'd be mad to use it, so ignore the advice.

I have to admit, I pay no attention to backroom meetings other than scouting players they suggest. But each to his own.

Ignore it, stick to the formation you are using, if you feel you are doing good enough with it.

thanks for the advices, I will ignore it, as we are indeed fluid with current formation, tempo, etc... we better stick with it. However, I do agree with phnompenhandy that sometimes their advices are not so stupid. After all, I spent so much time handpicking my staff, making sure they all have 90% and above tactical and training knowledge, so throwing ALL their advices out in the window doesn't make sense..
