sbaker81
Hi Im looking at buying a second hand Ipod touch to run FM2011 for my holidays in May. Does anyone know what the lowest spec I could get away with is? I know I need IOS 3 and above, but is that 3rd gen Ipod touch or lower? Thanks sbaker81
Gizzy
I think all ipod touch will play FM fine. if you are just gettting it for FM I would just get a 2nd gen 8gb. should be able to get one for around £50.
SI Staff Marc Vaughan Posted January 12, 2011 SI Staff Share Posted January 12, 2011 I own one of each of each generation of the iDevices (ie. iPad, iTouch and iPhone) and test the game on each of them to ensure it operates correctly. Its obviously slightly faster on the newer devices, but still very playable on the oldest (1st generation) iTouch.
sbaker81
Thanks guys Is there a benefit to having the 2nd gen over 3rd or 1st over 2nd? Graphics, processor speed etc?
Keify
There's some info on Wikipedia about the differences in models - iPod Touch models - and a comparison of specs of all iOS devices too - List of iOS devices - iPod Touch. Hope that helps
timpino
Go 3rd gen mate if you can afford it. 1st and 2nd gen are fairly equal in speed, 2nd gen being a slight bit faster, but there is a huge leap from 2nd to 3rd gen. If you decide on the 3rd gen though don't get the 8GB one, it is a rebranded 2nd gen device (i e not the faster chip) There is also a big difference in RAM on the different devices. 3rd gen 32 GB if you can afford it is my recommendation. otherwise just get what you can afford since the difference between 1st and 2nd gen are minimal
