I checked on wikipedia and it says it eneded when the season starts which is way before 9th June however ive always know it being from 1st july. DeadZone Posted January 9, 2011 Share Posted January 9, 2011 I read it in the official Premier League handbook for this season The winter window is 1st Jan to 31st Jan Summer window is from the last day of the season to the 31st August Also, the closing day is extended if it falls on a weekend I believe As for any news, I've never read any, I only checked the handbook after I noticed the different window and could find no news on the web (but then finding that type of news is bloody difficult since all the search engines want to talk about is past transfers and rumours) Edit: Just opened it up and here is a direct quote 2. The first Transfer Window in any year shall commence at midnight on the last day of the Season and shall end on 31st August next if a Working Day or, if not, on the first Working Day thereafter, at a time to be determined by the Board. 3. The second Transfer Window in any year shall commence at midnight on 31st December and shall end on 31st January next if a Working Day or, if not, on the first Working Day thereafter, at a time to be determined by the Board. I will add, that the whole 1st July thing is actually an international transfer window, which I believe means no transfers should occur between nations before that date But I can't be certain of it Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

But most of the first division European leagues kept in line with the international windows However, some are beginning to move away from it for the summer one, but I'm still sure the Scottish SPL summer window still opens on 1st July, it's just that no type of transfer regulations are mentioned in the official handbook on the SPL site Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
