Can't Buy Stadium

right i dont own my current stadium, i am mansfield town, we are in the premier league i have a balance of £11,000,000 and i cannot buy the stadium.

i used FMRTE to edit the balance to £610,000,000 clicked on buy stadium. and i get "we dont have enough funds" same for build new stadium.

is there any other criteria i need to buy the stadium? i have tried all the options.

i am aware fmrte is cheating i only used it to see if it really was lack of funds

Well 11 million probably is a lack of funds.

What I have seen from playing around with FMRTE in the past is that changes although immediate, seem to take some time to 'sink in' - so if you took your edited save and moved on 6 months it would probably work.

right i saved it just before i edited buget so im going to back that up and holiday for a while. it didnt do it when i had £35,000,000 at start of season. so if this doesnt work then its either the owner doesnt want to sell or has an unrealistic valuation. the board has upgraded the stadium on its own because it starts out as a 9000 seater and is now a 35000 seater. but the rent is the same £60,000 a year,

and I bet you wont change it back to 11 million will you ?

also you need to have plenty of stadium sell outs throughout the season and perform well on and off the pitch. Wait till you are in a vein rich of form and try again

yeah i backed up my save game im in a relegation battle, ill be going back to it once i find out if it really is the money that is holding it up. and to see how much i really need to buy the stadium so i can sell some player as i have players on the fringe who are just as good as the first team.

Why are you so keen to buy it if its only 60k a year ?

its more personal, mansfield (in real life) are in a dispute over the stadium. the landlord wants £2,000,000 (even though he bought the ground from the club for £1) and we dont want to pay that much so its a case of i want to see a news item saying they had bought the stadium from the moneysucking ex-chairman and are now free from the virus know as keith haslam... or something like that ;)

If you have something worth millions would you sell it for a 1? The club were the stupid ones to sell it to him in the first place.

Not really - if there was debt on the stadium then although they only sold it for £1 they actually gained whatever the debt was. Quite a few major companies have been sold for a pound simply because they are in so much debt whoever buys them is actually spending a LOT of money on that company.

the situation with the ground is the previous owner bled the club dry, used money from the club to loan to himself then wrote them off, used club money to buy land for a "youth academy" but the land was registered to one of his companies and he sold the stadium to the same company for £1 after using various grants to build it. so when he did sell the club (which he bought for £1 in 1988 for the reasons mentioned above) he made a profit and charged the new owners £120,000 a year to use the stadium. you may say smart businessman but it was illegal and because the FA couldnt give a monkeys about anything below the championship he got away with it. but we now have more new owners who is rich (got a few mill spare) and have got specialist financial solicitors in and they say we have a strong case to sue haslam.

anyway back on topic. i have progressed a year (holidayed indefinately overnight) i have 605,000,000 so im running at a loss but its hardly a crippling loss at that balnce and my attendances are highest 34969 lowest 33537 my stadium holds 34969 but i still get the lack of funds message. i am a legend at the club, i can pick and choose feeder clubs. surely that loss would be overcame if we bought the stadium and improved it. i cant think of anything wlse that could be prenting the sale.

Id just like to say it makes such a change for someone who has an 'issue' with the game to not only TEST their issue, but to also make their case in a calm and reasonable manner without using lots of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or CAPTIALS!!!!!

its ok, i dont see the pioint in shouting or !!! it wont get sorted any quicker, its a massive game with lots of features, every last detail cannot be checked for conistency, im sure that as i progressed through the game ive probably found a little specific bug that just stopped me from doing it.
