Can't sign player immediately although paying a transfer fee.

I have put a bid in for Jack Wilshere as it's the start of the January transfer window, I could have just offered him a pre contract as his contracts up in 6months but the asking price of 1.8million was low so i decided to try and get him straight away instead of waiting until the end of the season. Arsenal accepted my bid but when I go to offer him a contract I cant get the option to sign him straight away only at the end of the season, other clubs have offerd him a pre contract so if I walk away now I won't get the chance to sign him. Is this a bug? any help would be appreciated thanks

I'm guessing the solution was to go forward a day? And suspect the issue was related to the game getting confused as to whether you are trying to sign him on a pre-contract or a transfer as this sometimes occurs if you try to do both within a short space of time.

I just clicked the homepage button then went back into the transfer deal and it was fixed, I am assuming as Pelican said that the game wasn't sure if I had tried to sign him on a pre contract or not. after everything he never came to me ended up going to Blackburn, I could have offered him more than 30k a week but seeing as I'm Rangers I have a strict wage policy.
