Very disgruntled!

Recommended Posts

This is now officially the first FM I'm going to have to give up on. The only way it works smoothly is if I install the game with the disk and don't use any patches. As soon as I use steam or any of the patches the match engine slows right down and matches just become too juddery to watch.

I keep hearing that I should update my 'drivers' etc, which I've tried doing to no avail. Plus I still refuse to believe a game like FM shouldn't work on a laptop thats only around 3 months old. If anyone has any ideas of where I can go from here it would be much appreciated. Others I'm going to have to play the very first version of FM11 that came out with no patches, or just not attempt playing it at all!

Run dxdiag.

At the bottom right of the screen there's a "save all information" button - click that and it'll prompt you to choose where to save the file.

Open the file and copy and paste the information from the top down to where it says "System Devices". It'll be quite a lot of info, but don't worry about that.

Cheers

Matt

It is true after applying the patches the 3d veiw does go abit stuttery.

It is barable on my pc. q6600@3.75 and a ATI 4870

But i can imagine that a lower spec machine might notice the stutter abit more?

The acctual FPS does not decrease by the way, it jsut looks stuttery, but the acctual FPS is identical from before any patching.

It kinda looks like its skipping frames.

I'm gonna suggest contacting our Customer Services guys to see if they can help you update the graphics driver, it may well be that yours is a little out of date (even tho the laptop itself is new - this is not uncommon). Sorry - you've kind of exhausted my basic checklist and I'm not really a techy...

Cheers

Matt
