Are you sure it didn't apply the patch? Remember: the database didn't change with 11.2.1, so if you go to start a new game, it will ask if you want the 11.2.0 database, even if you are playing version 11.2.1 of the game. To check the game version, start FM and at the start-up screen, click on the 'Preferences' button in the lower right corner. The Preferences page tells you the game version at the top of the page.
