Matches Keep Freezing

I have played FM08 for years now, and thought I'd update to the new game. Now when I installed it, at the end of the installation as message saying that there was an error and that I should check the installation logs.

When I load up the game it seems to work fine, but I get onto a match. The game starts to slow down a bit, and it takes a few minutes to get onto the match screen, where the pitch loads up and players are running around. It plays for a few seconds, then the players stop and start jogging on the spot, before stopping altogether. At this point the game becomes unresponsive.

I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, but the same problem occurred. Does anyone know what the problem is? And if the message I got on installation means anything.

I'm also having a problem with loading the game. No game file appears with the other files on the menu as usual, and no shortcut icon appears, so I can't load the game now.
