Who to buy !!!!

I have just got the full game so pretty excited about this, dont wanna make any mistakes!!!

In the demo, I bought Bale for 40m and Valbuena from Marseille for 20m, but I think I probably paid a bit too much there and was hoping for some advice on players to sign.

I want to win the quadruple!!!!

Why don't you manage Blackpool and see how you do!

Buy what you need!! So many people come on and say 'Who do I buy, who do I buy?!'. Just look through the team and see what they need to strengthen. Your assistant even helps you in telling you what you need to buy and the rating for each player.

You don't see Mancini just spending the money for the sake of it on players just because he can. He actually had a plan and bought players City needed. Take your game seriously and plan what you need and what system they'll fit in to.

Also don't just buy for the sake of it. If you don't need anyone then just wait!

i have around £75m available.

RB is a weak position, I have just bid 23.5 for Dario Srna and got it accepted, is this a good deal?

no, it's a terrible deal. He's a top, top wing back, but his marking, anticipation and positioning are woeful for a right back. £23.5 million is an absolute joke. Man Utd bought him for £3m at the end of season. And he's 29yrs old.

City have Boetang already, why not bring him on, and Richards. So much to choose from.

Anyway it depends how you want to play, but i'd say another striker is a priority, and a box to box midfielder wouldn't go amiss. Maybe a world class centre back too. Try throwing money at Barca to get Pique.

I must admit starting a City save does sound like fun. Although i like working with a budget.

I bought Fabregas (80), Srna (20) and Lukaku (10) in my first season, then in my second, Bale (30), Subotic (20), Kjaer (23), Sanchez (15) and a couple of youngsters.

Oh and Reto Ziegler for 20 in my first season transfer window...:o

although citeh do have a few players who can play RB, there is nobody there world class. Srna is better than what you have available, but train his defensive attributes to build them up. CB is another area that needs quality over quantity. Chiellini, Kjaer or Vermaelen would be good signings who will be top players for a few years.

No issues with goalies, LB is fairly strong and has good cover.

if you could sign a world class midfielder like Fabregas then go for it, but there is a lot of quality there. Tevez is a brilliant striker and good enough to lead the line. Adebayor doesn't look amazing but in games i've played, he performs well for me. Jo, Santa Cruz are not good enough so look for another striker better than them (or with the potential like babacar or lukaku)

Srna is fine, I am currently coaching Shakhtar and in the first three seasons (with him as captain) I have achieved a lot, he is a great lad. He moved to Manchester at 31 years old (for 12M - still not that much, I believe), so for "dontask", Srna deserves around 25M in the beginning of the game, he is still young and world class player.

i am man city too, i chose to win the league instead of title challenge or 4th place finish....

you get about £70million plus to spend & i think u shud buy Hulk? He is a quality striker...get rid of Adebayor, Santa Cruz & Jo!!! Especially Jo!! he is quite tough to get rid off for a decent amount lol

Srna is a WORLD-CLASS full back, he is one of the best :)

On my Man City saves i tried to buy him but Shaktar was asking too much...think it was like £28million asking price

I signed him for Man Utd for 15 million at the end of the first transfer window, do i regret it? Yeah! Wes Brown is doing a decent job and John O'Shea stepped up to the mark when needed. I dont like the 'flashy' Left/Right backs. I just want them to stay solid and defend, clean sheets win games.

True, but it depends if you want to sustain a realistic business model or not. You can just go an burn 25mill on a 29yr right back who's contract is running out, or you can get him for cheap at the end of season or january, because City have decent right backs anyway.

City would not pay that money now. 12 months ago probably but not now i shouldn't think. But play the game how you want!

You can win the title as you are, but i would say some centre forward is necessary. Obviously Dzeko is an option.

Players I'd buy............

Renan. Fantasic young RB for 15 mil.

Eden Hazard, Pure quality.

Galeano, Great young CB for 14 mil who will improve fast and is very consistent.

Chillini (sp?), about the best CB you can buy as Man City.

Paulo Henrique, will eventually develop into a world class player.

Neymar, retrain to AML and play as inside forward, keep Tevez up top.

Digne, very fast 16 yr old LB for 4 mil who will be first choice LB in two seasons.

Phil Jones, simply the best English prospect for CB in the game. 9 mil.

If I could, I'd get Wilson, the young CB at Liverpool. Not sure they'll let it happen tho.

Sissoko or Vidal. Not both, you'll never keep em both happy with so much DMC quality at City.

And if you really must buy another striker, Dzeko is obvious but take a look at the youngster Babacar.. Great prospect.

Play 4/2/1/2/1

GK, RB,. LB, CB, CB, DMC, DMC, CM, AMR (Inside Forward), AML (Inside Forward) and Tevez as complete striker.

Or 4/1/2/2/1

AS above except one DCM and two CM's.

You prolly wont win the prem at first attempt (Unless you get inventive with the 'Save Gane' function) because the squad are just not happy.

Even Hart could put in a transfer request, despite playing every game for the first half of the season.

Have fun with it, i have..... Ive restarted a Man City save about twenty times so far -)

I was offered the Man City job in the 4th season. I took it, because they had won nothing since the game started.. The two signings I have made are 30 year old Klaas Jan-Huntelaar for £5m and Jesus Navas from Seville for £53m. Oh how I was gutted when 3 weeks after signing him he was injured for 4 months!

  • 1 month later...

Can I recommend Hulk? Buy him, specialise training on his composure and within 12 months he'll be banging in the goals and assists. I have him playing around 30 games a season and hitting 25 goals and 20 assists in the premiership... (he does take my corners to be fair)

I do have one question... why is a person with the nick "Rooney1000" managing Man City? :)

CIty have more depth in their squad than anyone else i can think of, they already have 2 world class keepers in Hart & Given, a plethora of wingers in Milner, Silva, Adam Johnson & SWP, an array of amazing striking options in Tevez, Adebayour, Balotelli, Santa Cruz, and even Craig bellamy who are all amazing, not to mention Dzeko who they recently signed, so that's pretty much all the fun areas covered.

The only places i woul probably look to change are the full backs as and maybe bring in a more creative CM as i find Barry/De Jong/ Toure/ Viera far too boring but apart from that their current squad should be more than capable of winning everything there is to win out there
