East Stirling [PSP]

Recommended Posts

East Stirling have today announced Liam Howard as their new manager. Howard is said to be delighted at the chance to manage the Shire. He has been presented with the task of reaching the playoffs. To acheive this, he has been given £0 to spend and a £3.4K wage budget. Liam knows that he will have to sell players if he is to reduce the wage bill and bring in some quality players. He currently has a squad of 34. His first game in charge of the Shire will be in the Scottish league Challenge Cup Northen Section 1st Round at home to Queen's Park on the 24th July 2010.

Updates to follow :D

The Shire have another cup game on the 31st July, this time in the Scottish League Cup 1st Round, away at East Fife. ES will certainly be looking to get back to winning ways.

A great season so far for Howard's men, despite their recent mid- season slump (4 wins in 13) and silly defeats. They will be looking to keep top spot, now with just 12 games left. They will also want to get back to winning ways. Up next: Berwick away.

A fantastic season for The Shire, who were top of the SD2 from late September. They scored bagfuls of goals, nearly 3 per match, but also conceded a fair few, something which manager Liam Howard is sure to be doing something about. The SD1 will be a reality check for the Shire, who, only a few seasons ago, were languishing at the bottom of the SD3.

Another great season for Liam Howard's men, a season which saw them comfortably stop in the SD1 when many predicted they'd go down, AND reaching a Scottish Cup Final, unfortunately losing 3-2 to Kilmarnock. A quality defender or change of tactics is now a priority if the Shire are to stop leaking goals. More of the same (conceding less goals mind) is expected next season.

Well, what is there to be said? One thing is to be certain, the fans now say that Liam Howard is the best manager that they have ever had after he led them from the SD3 to the SPL in just 4 seasons. The board are also saying that they 'owe him one'. Howard is thought to have asked for a bigger wage budget. However, East Stirling need to be serious if they want to stay in the SPL. Only time will tell.

Again, another exceeds-expectations season for the Shire, who, of it hadn't have been for a 7-game winless run, could well have won the SPL title. They did extremely well in a UEFA Cup group that nobody thought they'd get any points from, winning 3 and losing 3, one of the wins being a storing 4-1 away to Juventus. Their squad is very young, with only one player (David Stockdale, 31) out of their strongest eleven being over 30. Another European adventure awaits.

Time for a fresh challenge perhaps? What about taking over at Falkirk or another team in the league below and seeing if you can repeat the feat?
