pelicanstuff
I'm interested to know the rationale behind the granting of work permits to players such as Fofana, Otshudi, Uchechi. I know that Uchechi at least was refused a work permit IRL and had to move back to Nigeria, while Fofana spent most of his time at Charlton away on loan for similar reasons. Yet these players get work permits in game to play part-time football. It doesn't seem hugely realistic. Any thoughts?
heathxxx
I may have looked at signing all of those players myself. None got work permits to join me at AFC Telford. I was offering full-time contracts. Other than those with dual citizenship, I've only managed to get a work permit for one non-EU player, which was Brazilian veteran Viola, who has 10 international caps. pelicanstuff
All of these were granted work permits to join me at Woking for some reason...though Fofana's was the only transfer I actually completed.
pelicanstuff
The reason why they received Work Permits in the game appears to be that all had enough time in UK to subsequently apply for nationality. Something must be wrong here as at least 2 of these 3 players suffered from Work Permit/immigration related trouble in real life.
Lazaru5
I got Uchechi at Eastleigh... scored 4 goals for me in a game where my other striker got a hat-trick AND the four goals were the game after I'd fined him for poor performance and he was wanting to leave the club... I pacified him after that game lol!
pelicanstuff
In the end I did sign Uchechi later in the season as all my strikers were either injured or desperately out of form. He got 6 in 16 in the end, not too bad but seriously inconsistent. He shouldn't have got a permit though.
