Future Transfer

So in my current save as Nottingham Forest there are three players that I am trying to sign. They are Jazz Richards, Darren Pratley and Peter Whittingham. I can't afford any of them at the moment so I thought that I would get the transfers to go through at the end of the season. Hoping that by then I would be promoted and would have the money. If I wasn't promoted then I would still sign them because there all over 48 months and in total it's about £7.9m for all three. The thing is Richards has accepted my offer and it said I can't afford it and ask if I wanted to delay it, adjust my budget to confirm it or just cancel it. I thought that I must have forgot to put it to go through at the end of the season, so I cancelled and tried again. After got back to that stage but the same thing is happening with Peter Whittingham.

So my question is if I want to sign a player and I want the deal to go through at the end of the season, do I have to pay them now?

Oh, even if you are trying to get it to go through at the end of the season on a 48 month deal. Surely you wouldn't start paying anything until the deal goes through at the end of the season?
