what attributes should i be looking for in a assistant manager? many thanks

It depends what you want him to do?

i like 1 with good jpa and jpp as i use his advice to see how good players are.

motivation is always good.

Judging Player Ability and Man Management since he gonna manage my reserve and under 18

If you are big club can also find one with good tactical knowledge

One that is good with pre/post match conferences

Determination, discipline, motivation, man management, JPA, JPP, Tactical knowledge are the main ones for me. I also look for someone who's favoured tactic/styles are the same/similiar to mine. Depending on your level you may need to compromise on some of those.

Judging Player Potential (both useful to have an accurate rating of your team)

Tactical Knowledge (to get accurate 'Opposition instructions')

Man management and Motivating (if I intend to do some holidaying during the season)

That is spot on, I always look for these stats and discipline is a bonus as I like to be tough on the players.
