Getting the message 'no disc inserted' on start up...

Can anyone help me out? I have a mac and downloaded the game through steam. I used the activation code and everything seemed to install ok but its asking me to put in a disc that I dont have... Help!

have you installed the patch for the boxed version? This was causing the same issue last year, although downloading through steam should auto patch you

yeah i installed it but no difference..

what do you mean you installed it? I asked if you installed the boxed version patch, if you have this is why you are getting the error

This error message usually means that you have installed a patch over an existingly patched game. Steam will automatically patch the game for you so you will now need to uninstall and reinstall.

ok so how do i go about uninstalling?!

I think there is an option in steam to verify the files. It should pick up the difference and replace the wrong files. Though since I don't use steam I can not be sure.

Do you have a legit copy of the game?

He's put the wrong patch on his steam download. Nothing else.

to the OP i am unsure if the game uninstalls like a normal disc version, but in your FM folder there should be an icon for uninstall, once you reinstall via steam it will automatically patch it and you will be ready to go!
