Slide goals. too many?

I like the new addition of players sliding into passes, sometimes between a defenders legs, to score goal but does it occur too often?

Far too often, although it is probably made worse by the fact defenders can't do a thing about it. The worst ones are when they slide from behind the defender and score it through his legs. It's a good touch for balls hit across the six-yard box, but you see them from corners and even balls out as far as the penalty spot. And you never see a player slide but miss the ball or be too late on it, which is very common IRL.

It's a nice animation but why can't defenders slide to clear, or why can't they get to the ball first and beat the sliding attacker? Right now, sliding attacker = chance and usually goal, regardless of where the ball is and how many defenders are around him.

Indeed it does.

Personally I think, the best game engine so far regarding game play in 3D was without a doubt 2009 edition. Probably the best FM to date, but I'm certain some disagree.

There was some spectacular stuff going on, that all faded away in 2010.
