Manager Salary

Anyone managed to negotiate their salary once its open to renewal? why would anyone accept a high wage and burdon the clubs finances or even try for a higer wage? i negotiate mine to £1 per week everytime and the board accepts saving me anything between 40k and 80k PW on wages depending on club i see why they include manager salary in the game but it has no benefits.

it actually does. The higher your wage and the longer your contract the more job security you have becuase it costs the club more money to sack you.

Didnt know you could negotiate down your salary, is this new for fm11 because in fm10 you could only select minimum offered and up

I guess it comes down to how you want to play the game, realistically you're not going to manage for free, you have to make a living.

Voluntarily negotiating your salary down to virtually nothing feels to me like cheating so I would never do it.

yes its new for fm 11.

Man Utd offered cca 100 pound per week at teh beggining of the second season. i easily negotiated it to o and the (of course) accepted it.

Anyone who asks for less money to coach his club should get a note in the press praising him. Fans should applaude as well. IMO.

I quite agree, Other clubs have their managers wages coming out of thier finances leaving less for transfers, players wages etc so if you work for a pittance it gives you an unfair advantage over your competitors, in effect cheating

I always try and get the best wage possible. At the moment I am in BSP with Maidenhead and am on £1500 a week. My highest paid player is only on £350ish a week.

You might think it is crazy but I if it was RL I would only be managing Maidenhead for the money.

Im on a 5yr $1 p/w deal......why not save the club money, not like you can spend it as manager

If you could spend the money you earned on something then you would negotiate it up but I feel as a Man United I am happy to keep my wage on about £50,000 to be more realistic but I could demand up to at least £200,000. I once on 09 or 10 got offered £400,000/wk which i felt was too much so I welcome negotiating it down

i just accept the wage they 1st offer me when a new contract comes up. knocking it down to a low rate is cheating and why would i want to increase it

At Liverpool I am on a 1 million pounds a year on a 3 year deal, currently ending within 6 months.

And i'm sure the Managers salary isnt included in the clubs wage bills, mine isnt at Liverpool.
