EU/European Economic Area

I was checking the rules for La Liga and noticed France is listed as both being a member of the European Economic Area and the EU. Whilst both Switzerland and Norway are listed as EU members. Obviously both of these countries have close ties with the EU, but it isn't correct to list them as members. Is this deliberate or a mistake and does it have any impact on gameplay at all?

From memory there are several countries that are listed as being EU, not necessarily due to their EU membership but that they qualify as European countries in international competitions
