Player unhappy with lack of discipline?

Yaya Toure just came to me with this concern (Dunno why hes too bothered - hes out for 4 months with a torn calf muscle...) and I said I will try to change the way i do things. He says he doesnt believe me....all my options are negative so I say will leave this for now and that we should come back later, he goes off in a huff.

Kolo Toure comes to be saying hes not happy how I've treated Yaya, i tell him we shouldnt worry about it and he backs down.....

What does Yaya mean by lack of discipline? As in internal club stuff, or bookings on the pitch? We've way down low in the booking table for the league, although Balotelli and De Jong are averaging a yellow every 2 games (and De Jong has ben sent off twice in his last 4 games).

How can i fix this?

I had that same problem, but with me it was the damn youths n reserves getting red cards and me not punishing :O

I now warn every player on 1st card, 2nd time its a fine. So check out your reserve squad

This is how I roll:

Straight red: Fine 2 weeks wages

2 yellows: Warning first time, then fine 2 week wages.

No one really gets upset.
