Amount of shots in a game (Unrealistic match engine)

Just a little thing that seem unrealistic to me.

Most of my games average 30 shots per game (inc both teams). This very rarely happens in real life, Barcelona, Madrid, Chelsea etc struggle to have 15 goals attempts during a game in real life, whereas my Newcastle team (1st season) are managing it week in week out. Most people might not notice it, but take a look at your match stats next time you play and you'll see it.

This should be something that needs addressing for the next patch.

If you are allowing that many shots in most of your games you need to press more and get better tacklers.

To be honest I think the OP is completely simply exaggerating. Yeah there are some games with mad numbers of shots, but this happens in irl as well.

But in my experience most matches are under 10 per side.

It's not just shots against me, it's the amount I'm managing against other teams. Last game I've just played I had 21 shots to Bolton's 10, how will pressing more solve that issue?

Yep I agree as Bayern if I get less than 20 shots at the target per game it would be a real oddity.

Out of curiosity how many are long shots?

Almost all of mine. Typically I get 20-30 shots, 15-20 are long shots, and about 5 of them are on target. This by the way is set to pretty much regular tactical settings with nobody to set to take long shots often.

I am no tactical mastermind but could the long shots be due to having no other option?

Players that aren't set to shoot from distance will do so under these conditions:

1) too much Creative freedom, letting them choose what to do.

2) high flair players may decide they know better, as will those with the long range PPM's

and finally for all players 3) they have run out of options.

If you are having that many shots and that many from distance there is most likely (not 100% guaranteed) a tactical issue.
