markcox7
I was wondering if anybody knows if asking your board for £1/week wage has an bearing on the game? Im with Cardiff so money is tight and got offered a new contract after my first season. It included a £10k a week increase which is the best part of a players wage. So i spotted that i could change to to £1/week which they obviously accepted. Does this affect anything except career earnings obviously
demodave
Staff Wages will be less, obviuosly, Also higher wages mean your harder to sack, because the club still has to pay the compensation.
jeej
I just renegotiated after my first year at Man City. Now the owner of a new three year £1 a week contract.
markcox7
it makes sense to be allowed to do this, as it doesnt really have any bearing on any achievments in the game, but i guess some people will think it unrealistic but it certainly helps when money is tight! (unless craig bellamy is available)
jeldokic
I just hope the bosses of your real life jobs are not reading this post, or you might have a new contract waiting to be signed in the morning
underwater sunlight
it has no affect on your budgets but a board are more likely to sack you for poor performances if the compo is cheap
duckers4
Could this work the other way and improve your chances of getting another job if the new club doesnt have to pay alot of compensation?
underwater sunlight
i've never noticed anything mentioned about compensation but i guess it would make sense
dave178
Also, as a lower league manager, other clubs are less likely to approach you if you have high wages/long contract, as they have to pay compensation. I usually sign 1 yr deals non-league, 2 in the league, at my average wage. I figure if a club would buy my players at that 'cost', they'd certainly look at 'buying' me! I intend to experiment with a rolling contract in my next game.
