Cannot get a parent club

I m keep requesting a parent club for my lower league team but every time the board comes back with 'make use of your zero parent clubs' or something to that effect, basically seems to think we already have some links when we don't, yet I have none, so not sure why they aren't granting me one? On previous versions it was easy to get parent clus.

There was a guy in a Tottenham thread who pasted a screenshot of his first few fixtures of his first season which showed him having Real Madrid as a parent club. He was obviously cheating, though. I've started four Spurs games now spanning the demo and the full game and there hasn't been an option to have a parent club once, let alone Real Madrid. In fact, I'm a year in on mine now and I still haven't had the option.

Not that I'm saying I should have had, of course. It's unlikely Tottenham would be a feeder club to anyone, I was just outlining the cheatiness
