JLlo
Hey, I'm wanting to start a journeyman save and after selecting the leagues I want to load and setting a custom database it says the approx. player count is 142,000. Is this waaay too much? My PC has a quad core processor and 4gb of RAM.
ArsenalFan7
I don't know anything about RAM and stuff like that. But 142,000 sounds way too much, couldn't see you getting a long term save out of that at all. I imagine it'll be a lot slower for anyone though anyway if they go over their recommended limit. More for the technical people to answer though
JLlo
Cheers for the reply. I agree with you I can imagine it would get very slow as the seasons progress. I'd like to hear from anyone who has played with a similar player count?
RazvanRat
My FM10 career game had around 120000 players in the database. Was perfectly playable for me, but I don't know how fast you like the matchdays to fly by... I got through 16 seasons and each of them took about 15 hours to play. cerud
I've got 100 000 player count with a quad core and 6gb RAM. So far, so good.
gillsminnow
123,000 players, every nation loaded. Quad core, 4GB RAM and it flies.
Bielsista
Well, I have a 6 cores AMD and 4gb RAM 1,3ghz...Im playing just one league but now I know I can go with much more players. (Im playing just one cos I wanted it, not cos I thought my PC couldnt handle more players)
d3z
Just my two cents, but I think I may have seen somewhere on these forums that FM does not utilize more than two gigs of ram anyway?
scholes=legend
Me and my cousin have near enough exactly the same spec but when we was both starting a game it said he could have up to 120000 but mine only allowed me a max of 75000. In your case i would say its all down to what speed you like he game to be at. What amount of players would you usually use and how long would it normally take you to do a season? AndyPass
Just my two cents, but I think I may have seen somewhere on these forums that FM does not utilize more than two gigs of ram anyway? I think that's on a 32 bit system. On 64 bit systems I think it's 4gig.
JLlo
I think I'm going to run a few tests and differ the number of players loaded and see how much speed differs whilst holidaying.
Administrators Neil Brock Posted November 23, 2010 Administrators Share Posted November 23, 2010 If you run over the recommended limit there's a chance your game will run out of memory as you advance. That's why we have the recommendation there in the first place. Cheers.

I believe in future releases of the game their should be an option where a league is in the background as if it is not being run but if you take a job in that league the country will then start-up and be fully playable.
