Playing from Disc after Steam install

I have bought the disc and activated through steam. I am going out to somebodys house without an internet connection and taking my computer with me. When I load the game, it loads through steam. Without an internet connection this cannot happen. So how do I load the game up

Set steam to offline mode when you log in and the game should start normally from your desktop shortcut. I had the same issue regarding playing black ops last week and it still worked without an internet connection
