robbo_sufc Posted November 20, 2010 Share Posted November 20, 2010 When I start a new game I see Bundesliga players don't have squad numbers and are then given random numbers (Dzeko number 14, Ribery number 32 etc) Why is this? german_wunderkind Posted November 21, 2010 Share Posted November 21, 2010 the problem is that the numbers for the reserve teams have to be submitted earlier than the once from first team. the annoying thing with that is that the clubs give almost all of their "good" numbers (lets say 1-22) to their reserve players as they consider them as unused. when they register the first team players the normal squad numbers are taken by the reservists and they have to give them different numbers (e.g. ribéry 17, robben 18 on mine) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
damian2112 Posted November 23, 2010 Share Posted November 23, 2010 The same thing happens in French leagues as well, but slightly different - the teams register each and every player in the club, including players from the youth setup without professional contract and potential dropouts, which in the case of Marseille results in the first 75 squad numbers used.
