Anyone else drawn in Cup against the team they just played in the league?

Ive noticed this a lot and not just in this edition of the game. But I seem to get drawn a lot against the team I played in the league immediately before the Cup Draw. Its all a bit freaky really.

And then, whatever the result was in the league I tend to get the opposite in the Cup Match, although this could be because it is normally the league cup and I basically send out my Crystal Palace reserve side.

there were threads like this on fm10 as well and people showed quite a number of incidents on where its happened irl, its actually not that uncommon.

Plenty of real life examples in here. It does happen. As for the reversal of results, bear in mind that some players might be up for the league game but not the cup game or vice versa - just coincidence that the result is turned round.

Ive noticed this too, but I think its one of those things where you only notice it if it happens, ie you pay no attention to the loads of time you get a totally random team in the draw, but when it happens to be one of the last 3 teams you played it feels freaky.

Well maybe someone should do some statistical analysis (as long as its not me ;-)), if you worked out what round of the cup your in and how many teams are left then we could figure what the odds are that it likely to happen

I had Liverpool 4 times in a string of 5 games on FM10, these things pop up from time to time.

Yes, this has happened in all previous versions too. It does happen in real life too, but it is a bit annoying to be playing the same team 5/6 times a year.

I have to face chelsea in the community shield, european super cup, premier league, league cup 3rd round.

League cup was drawn just after I played chelsea, now I'm suspicious... hmmmmm

The community shield and super cup are between 2 winners, so that is not random at all.. bit silly to post those even. Basically you have drawn them once.

Edit: Not sure if I understand you correctly, but if it is just that you have drawn them after the match reload til before the draw and see who comes up then. According to your theory Chelsea will always be drawn against you.

You only have to remember how many times Liverpool and Chelsea met from between 2005-2007.

Yea, it's fine. I had Man City 4 times out of 5 matches, but only because the way of the fixtures fell.

You should have played Manager Mode on FIFA 11 pre-patch. Now THAT was a bug
