Television rights

Just got promoted into the premier league and given 40 mil for tv rights. This 40 mil is nowhere to be seen in my bank or on my income information. Is this a bug?

The TV rights are for the entire year. You will receive them throughout the season on your monthly statements. It's not a lump sum payment.

It seems a bit stupid. My balance is at 0 and i have 17mil transfer budget because of the 40 mil. But if i spend the 17 mil im in debt by 17mil. Seems pretty odd. I dont remember this happening in past versions. wasnt it a lump sum?

I believe that since TV companies went bust (eg Setanta and ITV Sport) payments are paid in installments in real life.

It's been the same for years. At least since FM09, and even before that I think.

There's no problem with going 17m into the red for a few months. Many clubs go into debt during the season and make it up when they receive prize money at the end.

You're good for the money though because you've got 3.3mil per month guaranteed income for the whole year.

This may have answered the question I put into the bugs forum earlier today. I have just been promoted to the premier league in my first season as Coventry, and see the £40m and was expected it in 1 lump sum. The chairman has now given me £22 million to spend. Now hopefully that has cleared it up, and I will get it throughout the season, I feel less guilty about spending the cash, and will go ahead and do so!! Thanks
