Iamadon
Hello, new to this forum and new to football manager! I played fifa manager since 2006 but got bored of how unrealistic it was so have moved onto football manager. Im in my first season with Mk dons and im doing well, 3rd in the league. Anyway, just like real life, the dons have no money, and i had nothing to really work with! My transfer budget was £0 and my wage buget was 45k of which i was already using 44k, so only have 1k spare! I have realied on Loan players, and the odd free transfer. I must say iv got some very decent players in on loan! Anyway, pretty much my whole sqaud is out of contract at the end of this season, so im going to have to renew their contracts but alot of them are asking for more money than what they are on at the moment! And i just have nothing spare! I dont think im going to get promoted this season, and with no money, im going to lose some of my best players as i cannot afford to renew their contracts, which leaves me in a bit of a mess and cant see how il ever progress? Unless i get some extreamly decent yet cheap players in, which isnt easy. On fifa manager, you could say adjust ticket prices, and do promotions on clothing, can you do that on this game? Also, anyone know any cheap, YOUNG players out there? Say playing in the lower leagues and have great potential? Thanks
Tommy Styles
To answer your first question. No, you cannot adjust ticket prices etc. The only way to influence the finances is but buying/selling players and their respective wages and by requesting parent/feeder teams, where the parent team will pay you a yearly fee and there is an option to request a foreign feeder team to boost merchandise sales. Indirectly you can influence it by signing big names, leading to higher merchandise sales or by playing really well, increasing attendance and prize money earned. For the good young players you will probably have to go to the Good player/ Team guide section a bit further down the forum. Hope that helps =). Unfortunately it seems that the game currently has some problems with renewing contracts, cos in previous versions players whom were average in a team not overachieving would rarely ask for a big payrise. Reffi
Although I in some instances consider it an exploit, good money can be made playing friendlies.
charlo116
with the new agent negotiations, agents usually have higher demands then they're willing to agree to. So try negotiating a lower wage then what they're asking for and increasing the agent fee can also help with decreasing player wages.
cheshirelad
In the lower leagues, don't buy players; pick up free's and loans. Check who the premiership clubs release each season and pick up their cast offs. Then sell a coupple of players each year for pure profit. And what Reffi said. Loco_612
I normally create a friendly league with 3 other clubs, get the best clubs possible as that will get you the most money and make sure its a home as well.
Iamadon
Yea thats what i have been doing. Iv just finished my first season and managed to get promoted to the championship. As i said this is my first time playing football manager and am still trying to get to grips with it. Is there a way to say, for example, select manchester united and see which players they have released at the end of the season? Or is it only possible to search for all free agents? leumd
You can look at the transfer history for any team by selecting them -> transfers -> history and then looking at the 'out' column =)
Tubey84
Basically, pick a gathering profession and grind out the mats, then sell on the Auction House. Or you can play the Auction House, buy cheap and sell high. Doing Dailies helps too. EDIT: Whoops wrong game. ^^ In all seriousness though, best way to make money in the lower leagues is to sell on star players after buying them on the cheap, or use the "Away Friendly" exploit that still appears to be in the game, where you schedule an away friendly against obscure foreign sides and receive the fee for playing in it. Glavata
Might be cheating but I use FMRTE to scout out young talented players. Since Genie Scout is not out for FM11, FMRTE provides pretty much the same functionality for scouting...
LENNYG1
glavata that is definetly cheating another way to excel at league 1 level is to sign specialist players eg wingers with 17 plus pace and accelaration midfielders with high passting and teamwork etc without to much regard towards other areas and always try to get first dibs on premiership teams end of year rejects
ArranoBeltza
Keep good tabs on wages of both players and staff. If you have a player/staff member who you feel is paid too much for their attributes/performances, get rid of them and bring in cheaper options. aditya
just try to reduce your wage by cutting on your players wage (especially reserves). It's weekly expenses! + try to loan players out on full wage coverage.
underwater sunlight
friendly matches: whenever you have a week off from games arrange a friendly match against another club. this will bring in money, although it is a long term strategy rather than a short term fix haggle: players (especially ones with agents) will request high wages. offering higher agents fees will bring down wages, but also consider release clauses and sell on clauses. youths and reserves: if you don't need these players and have no future for them then get rid. transfer list, list for loan, and seek mutual termination if need be. Parent clubs: ask your board to look for a parent club to get players in on loan for free. the parent club will pay you a token fee annually and as they will be a higher reputation club the standard of player available to you should be higher. from personal experience i've never had more than 2 players offered to me in one season so don't expect half a team, and it will be their younger players, not quite ready for their first team so aim high with parent clubs Beg: ask your board for more money or a larger wage budget. not a guarantee it will work but its always worth a shot
