ive just been offered a new contract with sunderland, was offered 43,500pw but i knocked it down to 1pw as i thought it would have freed up some wages to sign players, it doesnt appear to have done, but does it have any other impact, ie would the board be more inclined to sack me as theyd have less compensation to pay etc?

It might earn you reputation, I'm not familiar with how that function. However I doubt it will affect a sacking scenario.

I think it affects their decisions on sacking yes, because they don't owe you a big payout, but i may be wrong.

Personally i never knock down my wages to free up player wages because it's like cheating to me, but each to their own

yes you have career earnings and they do accumulate. Dafuge is a 100 year old multi-billionaire or something

It's about job security. More expensive to sack you if you are on a long and expensive contract.

Is that confirmed?
Also is it true it doesn't free up more player wages?

Yeah that is most certainly the case, and no, it doesn't have any impact on player wages.
