Worldwide Players

In previous versions of FM, you used to be able to view a nations players without having to play the league or have the matches simulated (i.e. results computed rather than "played out" if you will)

Just wondering if this is possible in this version?

I've had a look at the "view only" sections when adding nations but im not completely sure

Basically the premise is this:

I'm playing as Man Utd with English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Scottish leagues active and playable. I want to be able to see all the players from lets say, south america - how would i do that and not cause my computer to say "too many players suggest maximum of 75000" or whatever it is

You could use the player search screen and filter by nationality > Regions > South American.

Ok. And i guess that if i wanted to include the whole world I would repeat for each continent?

When starting a new game, right at the "playable/view-only" scree. There is a "Database Size" option. Select "Custom Database". Go from there.

yep, you would just need to change the filtered region to the next one in the drop down menu one at a time.
