Any pc techy guys? HD?

My PC died. Couldnt be worse timing what with the new fm coming out.

Sounds like the HD died. It was a Samsung SP2504c. It looks like I need a new one.

Question is, will I see any noticeable performance increase for FM if I buy a better one. Or does it make no difference? Or do I have to buy a similar one anyway.

I have never replaced one before but I'm desperate. Or can I just repair it with some sort of downloadable HD repair kit? I can't find anything on google..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It will improve speed but not dramatically as there will be a clean disk basically and not loads of files for your computer to search through. Therefore, increasing speed slightly.

There are always various so-called 'bottlenecks' in a PC system. Even if you replace your harddrive with a much better one the bottleneck will just move to something else.

Your best bet is to just buy a new one. Even a 120GB drive is fairly affordable these days. And hursty is right, the only real improvement you'll see is improved loading times with your programs.

I was more thinking about extra leagues but if it makes no difference, I might as well get the cheapest possible just to keep me going till January then buy a new PC altogether.
