FM from Steam

Having got fed up with waiting for my copy of FM 11 from Zavvi. Pre-ordered mid october, the estimated dispatch date was the 5/11, and still havent recieved conformation of it being dispatched. According to the site its still awaitng dispatch a full 3 postal days after the release of the game!

Anyway back to the point of my post, I'm now thinking of downloading straight from Steam. Does the editor work in the same way as it when manually installing the game from a disk copy? When installing FM 10 during Steam I was unable to locate the editor at all.

That's if the editor will load for you. A few people, myself included, have had a problem with opening the editor via Steam. Some of them are with discs activated on Steam and others are whenthey have downloaded the game from Steam. If you have any problems there is a thread in the Bugs Forum > Data Editor section that may be helpful to you.

I believe that was the problem I had on FM10 having installed via Steam. I then reinstalled manually and had no problem at all. Prehaps its a better option to wait for a disc copy considoring I'll be editing the database.

I got steam version and the editor works just fine.
