Football Manager 2011 Region Protection

Hey guys quick question,

I live in Australia and am rather strapped for cash at the moment, so in trying to save a bit of money, i've been looking at ordering Football Manager 2011 from play-asia.com

Now, when i go to buy it, it says the game will be from the "Asian" region... and i was wondering if this is the same version being sold commercially in Australia.

and it is a good $40 saving on the game, so if this game would be PAL and compatible in Australia, could some whizz please let me know, thanks in advance

I think from the webpage, it means the cd can only be used with asian cd ro drive, HOWEVER 1 way of finding out is to contact the company via this link https://www.play-asia.com/paOScore/21-49-en.html

Upon further reading of the site, they do deliver to USA, UK, Australia & Germany

I know you get region locking on dvd's that contain movies but I've never heard of it being on dvd's that contain computer games. If this turns out to be true then you can always try steam unless you really want a disc.

There is no such thing as being only playable on Asian dvd drive. PC is not a console and it is not possible to have region protection on it. Because ALL computer parts come from Asia.

The only region locking is if you try to activate a game that is not allowed in your region on steam.

That's weird, they're advertising CD Rom or DVD Rom as seperate versions, personally I wouldn't risk it but I know nothing of this company at all.

edit, or rather they're saying the DVD is CD Rom compatible, mystifying tbh.
