is this offside?

Hey, Im not sure this is the right topic, but Im discussing with a friend of mine if this is offside or not.

My striker Griffith is clear vs the keeper, he shots and Goalie saves, then my other strikers gets a rebound and scores.

The refree ingame blew for offside on Griffith.

In my opinion a new situation arise after Griffiths shot, therefor hes not interfering with the game. I might be totally wrong and laughed at, but I really dont know.

What is correct?

If, as I understand it:

-Griffith shoots

-Keeper saves

-Other ST slots home, and Griffith wasn't anywhere near the ball,

then IMO, this isnt offside due to the fact that when the shot was taken by Griffith, your other ST was behind the line of the ball, and therefore legally offside. This could however by a deabated decision in game by some shoddy Ref or Lino calls.

Like real life, FM referees makes mistakes too. xD

if the player is standing in an offside position when the shot is taken and the goalkeeper parries it back into play, and the player who was in an offside position is correctly offside... i think.

if it was ruled out for offside, did it not show a replay with the game giving lines at to whether he was on or off?

Its borderline, but he is definitely gaining an advantage by being where he is and it could be that the first phase of play doesnt finish after the keeper saves it.

The short answer is no. Phase of play changes as soon as he touches the ball, but he isn't offside anyway, so that's irrelevant.

@carmi88 The replay borderline was really bad, this is the best timeframe+angle

not offside from the screenshot..maybe the ref/linesman made a wrong decision
