Problem starting the game

I installed the game offline.

Then I got a message saying that the installation was succesful but there was one minor problem during installation and that I should look at the installation log.

The problem is: Custom Action: com.sigames.InstallAnywhere.WindowsGameExplorer

Status: ERROR

Additional Notes: ERROR - class com.sigames.InstallAnywhere.WindowsGameExplorer NonfatalInstallException AddGameExplorerTasks() failed: Failed to retrieve GUID for application

Now the game won't start, the icon doesn't work.

Can anybody help me please?

I already installed the patch but that doesn't matter.

You need to run the game from the install location and not from the shortcut on the desktop.

Can be found - C: Program Files -> Sports Interactive -> FM2011 -> FM.exe

That works, but when I copy that exe file to my desktop it doesn't work anymore.

So I have to go to the install location everytime?

right click on the fm.exe file and select send to, then select desktop and it will send one to your desktop.

Make a shortcut of fm.exe to the desktop, don't copy it.

I tried, but I can't make a shortcut.

There is no "send to" option either.

ok make sure you right click on the letters of fm and not around it- the send to option should be just above cut in the list the opens.

also what os are you running?
