Very Strange error message installing fm2011

Hi just recieved my game this morning from zavvi. Got a very strange error message while installing fm2011 that i should insert fm 2009 disc.

Was strange because i never purchased 2009.

Here is the error message.

That would be because that is FM2009.

im trying to install it but it keeps coming up through installation to install football manager 2009,whats that about?

How were you installing and were you trying to patch it?

mine says same thing

just installing through disk as normal and it came up with the op saying

thats wierd. can see clearly it wrote "installing...uninstall fm2011.exe"

Go into your App Data, Roaming folder and delete the cache folder ( full instructions in the FAQ thread )

Just stuck the cd in and keep getting this error everytime i try to install the game. Tried via the steam option but then it just crashes completely.

Im assuming my cd is corrupted?

First of all you need to turn on hidden files and folders.

XP:

My Computer

'Tools'

'Folder Options'.

The go to the 'View' tab and select 'Show hidden files and folders'

Windows Vista and Windows 7:

My Computer

'Organize'

'Folder and Search Options'.

The go to the 'View' tab and select 'Show hidden files and folders'

Once this is done, follow the instructions below:

Windows XP:

1. Open “My Computer”

2. Navigate to : “Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\

3. Go into the “Sports Interactive” Folder.

4. Go to the “Football Manager 2011 Demo” Folder.

5. Delete the 'cache' Folder found inside here.

Windows Vista and Windows 7:

1. Click “Start”

2. Click your username on the start Menu

3. Click on “AppData” and then “Roaming”

4. Go into the “Sports Interactive” Folder

5. Go to the “Football Manager 2011 Demo” Folder.

6. Delete the 'cache' Folder found inside here.

MAC

Remove the 'Sports Interactive' folders from the following locations:

User > Library > Preferences

User > Library > Caches

its the full game i have,nothing to do with demo

OK I have edited my post- just delete the FM folder

Deleted the cache folder and now playing the game. Thank you fraz.

Apparently i had played the fm 2009 demo so deleted everything in the roaming folder to do with fm 2009 and it works perfectly.

mine not loading at all now,my f drive missing how do i get it back

Unless I am mistaken, your f drive is the floppy drive or external hard drive and shouldnt be anything to do with the game installation.
