Is there a way to have a defender block the corner to near post?

The defending corner instructions are a bit ****. Is there a way to position a defender so that any ball in to the near post gets blocked? I keep losing goals where a low ball to the front post is met by their attacker running in and he side slots it in at the near post.

There doesn't appear to be any way to stop this. I play defensive tactics and have my lone striker at the edge of my area and everyone else back either marking, on the posts or 'go back'. Still though a low ball to the near post doesn't go near any of my players until it reaches their forward at the corner of my 6yd box.

I have the same problem on FM10, quite annoying but at least the AI have the same problem when defending corners.

I find if you set someone to "close down corner" the corner almost never goes near post, it effectively marks the near post guy out of the game.

That's what you should go with. It may not be perfect, but it does the job for me.
