5.8 rating on Debut and journalist says Solid debut

Can someone explain how can a debut performance be rated as Pretty solid when the said player has 5.8 rating?

Also can someone tell me where to find the Average position Heat Map. I cannot find that one

I had something like this with Extremadura U.D.. Playing an intersquad match, my Assistant reported that Raul had a solid game for the under 19's... his match rating was 5.3. When everyone else was in the 6.x.....

I did reply that. But the journalist has to be a fool to call it a solid debut with such pathetic rating.

Yeah that doesn't make sense- his debut must have been pretty Shittu, in all actuality.

Well 6 is an average so solid is a good word to use IMHO

5 is actually average.

So his debut was above average. Solid is the correct word as above ^.

If I have a player who gets under 6.3 in rating for a lot of games in a row my fans will complain so i wouldn't call 5 an average rating and wouldn't call 5.8 a solid game.

In the real world, a 6 is used when it's a performance that was not a stand out but wasn't poor either. 6 is usually the accepted average in the media. I use this as the basis for my understanding of these match ratings.

In FM terms 6 would be classed as a solid performance, so there's no problem.

Don't know if it is the same in FM 11, but in FM 10 when my players was playing a game with a rating under 6 my assistant would say "is playing a bad game" under motivation so 5.5-6 can't be solid.

if one of my players is under a 6 at ht they are off
