Mac problems

You've got lucky in that case. We dropped support for the Tiger OS in FM09 as it struggled with the 3D match engine. Most new Mac software coming out is no longer supporting 10.4 especially now that 10.7 has been announced for next year

You don't have to get 10.5, but it is recommended that you do a "clean" install (wipe the hard drive and start from scratch) (you DO NOT need to buy the "full" version, contrary to Apple's claims; the "upgrade" disc will work just fine).

Also, 10.6 does not have an "archive & install" option, so you will have to make sure to back up everything you have manually. Be sure to check the compatibility of all your apps before upgrading as well...
