Football Manager 2011 Demo failed to start (error code 83).

Can't get FM11 to run. Have installed it, when i hit play game it says its preparing to launch then nothing happens. :confused:

me too played fm10 fine now this wont load and crashed my laptop 3 times don't think ill be buying why can they never get this right never seen a game with so many problems.

I know what you mean, can't they build at least one version of FM that is suitable for all users, No bugs,

Technical issues, even extend the release date in future, just make a game that is playable from installation to when you decide to exit the game. Every year it's either this problem or that problem.

This error seems to be linked with Steam and the only successful fix I can find is a simple reboot.

I'd suggest downloading the other demo version tomorrow and seeing if you have better luck with that.

ihad this problem when i downloaded but when i clicked the desktop icon it booted no problem.

Step one Verify Game cache:

-Load Steam

-From the My Games tab, right-click on FM2011 Demo and select Properties from the menu.

-Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.

-Steam will verify the game cache files (GCF's) - this process may take several minutes.

-Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

Step Two: Restart Steam

- Simply close down Steam via going to the 'Exit' then restart it

Step Tree: Verify Game Cache again

- It should download the damaged files and resolve this issue.
