nope, I certainly didn't. The update that comes on the disc are for those people who don't have wireless access to the internet to download PSP software updates.

You don't need to update your PSP to play the game so you can just ignore it.

It comes bundled with Version 2.5

Which Sony makes you upgrade to that version for it to be playable.

mine had a 2.6 update i think. i was already on 2.6 so i may be wrong as i only briefly looked.
