cattyyat
hello, anyone has an idea how the different passing style (short/mix/long) of a forward changes the way the play the game? i would very much like my tevez to pass the ball to torres when they are counter attacking and torres has a better chance of scoring. StevoRobbo
I dont think even in the real world you can tell a player who to pass to or not when counter attacking in certain situations. We see it every week where players pass instead of shooting or shoot instead of passing. Thats just how it is. You need to look at the mental attributes of the player with probably Descisions being a key attribute for that situation.
edgar555
Its not just passing style, you need to look at creative freedom, mentality as well as other things I'm forgetting. Stevo makes a good point though, fiddle with sliders all you like sometimes a player is just going to do their own thing no matter what you ask of them. Carmi88
try and train tevez to pass more instead of shooting?
edgar555
try and train tevez to pass more instead of shooting? Good luck in getting him to learn the PPM 'looks for pass rather than shoot'
cattyyat
hello thanks for your replies. now i am just asking whether passing style affects the way they play their game?
La Furia Roja
you have got a mixed response as you really asked 2 questions in one at the start. the first part, you answered yourself, they will play how you tell them too, if you tell them to pass short, they will, long they will play long, this includes strikers. The second part was answered by Stevo. If you want a particular player to play a different passing style you need to set it as an individual instruction but telling Tevez to play short balls doesnt mean he will look to set Torres up all the time. Id advise setting torres as the advanced forward and tevez as the deep lying forward for a better chance of that happening.

The bolded part isn't 100% accurate, if they have high flair or low team work or you set their creative freedom too high they may well just do what they like. Also change Teves' through balls to often so he will more than likely slide it through to Torres.
