Quackje
Hopefully someone at SI has been paying attention to this. Netherlands Antilles will cease to exist on 10/10/10 with Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba becoming parts of the Netherlands. Curuçao and Sint Maarten becoming constituent countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands like Aruba already is. So in an FM sense this would mean Netherlands Antilles not in the game. Curuçao added as a new country much like Aruba is and I seem to remember Sint Maarten is already in there. Then it should be made possible for dutch players to be from Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.
La Furia Roja
this will probably be moved to the data issues thread, its not reall an SI thing but more for researchers, they should get it fixed up in a patch if not in the original FM11 release as all data files have been submitted
Wiitastic
to be honest I don't know if they can change around countries in a patch can they ? It may indeed be something for fm12
La Furia Roja
yes they can, just as they can change around transfers etc
charlo116
to be honest I don't know if they can change around countries in a patch can they ? It may indeed be something for fm12 they could do it but you would have to start a new game for it to take effect.

dinamo_zagreb
You can do it by yourself as soon as game is out, using editor. You just have to have patience with changing nationalities to specific players.
Herter
You can do it by yourself as soon as game is out, using editor. You just have to have patience with changing nationalities to specific players. The question isnt about whether we can do it ourselves.. its that SI/researchers should change it so that it reflects real life
afced7
I'd rather they sorted out any major problems and the football side of things tbh.
Remco
You can't add contries so if SI doesn't implement this, it won't be in the game. I don't know what will happen to the Net.Ant. soccer team. Maybe they will go on?
Remco
Info bout the future of Netherlands Antilles national soccer team (it's clear that nothing has been decided yet, so it won't be in the game) Future The Netherlands Antilles are scheduled to be dissolved as a unified political entity on October 10, 2010, so that the five constituent islands will attain new constitutional statuses within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Two new associated states within the Kingdom of the Netherlands are to be formed: Curaçao and Sint Maarten, whose national team is already a member of CONCACAF. For their part, Bonaire, Saba, and Sint Eustatius will become directly part of the Netherlands as the Kingdom Islands. Curaçao and Bonaire are the only islands that are part of the Nederlands Antilliaanse Voetbal Unie. Nowadays, no announcement has yet been made by Bonaire as to whether they want to remain as a member of the NAVU or whether they will be joining the Royal Dutch Football Association. If Bonaire splits, Curaçao will be the only island that will form the NAVU and it is reported that if that happens, they will try to change the name of the Nederlands Antilliaanse Voetbal Unie. SI Staff Jeroen Thijssen Posted September 29, 2010 SI Staff Share Posted September 29, 2010 I am planning to work on this as Dutch Head Researcher. Unfortunately, as stated by Remco, we cannot properly implement this yet - we may have a solution when more info available for potential game patches - but if not, it will be for FM12. Twizted_seed
What happens to the players that have already earned caps for Netherlands Antillies such as Dyron Daal? Will he get a choice of which Island to support or if his Island is one of the 3 drafted into the Netherlands major will his caps be converted into netherlands caps? I don't think you can 'convert' caps. Eg: Andrei Kanchelskis and Oleg Luzhny
Quackje
It will be like when Yugoslavia broke up in terms of caps. Basically anyone who is elligible for Netherlands Antilles will now be elligible for one of the nations resulting from it and FIFA would allow them change national team to one of these. All caps for Netherlands Antilles would stay on record but they start fresh with the new side unless one of the nations carries on like core nation. Dejan Stankovic is a good example playing for 3 different countries at the world cup, Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro and Serbia. Since Serbia is sort of the core nation though the caps added up. Robert Prosinecki though has caps for Yugoslavia but then switched to Croatia so its like starting fresh. So its possible Curuçao carries on with the statistics of Netherlands Antilles, but only with Curuçao players while others would now be allowed to play for the Netherlands although in reality this is very unlikely as they would been able to chose to play for the Dutch before and the fact they chose to go for Netherlands Antilles suggests they weren't good enough.
