I am in UEFA Europa League

After 5 games I guaranteed to get out of the group.

M. Haifa had 8 points and Stuttgart had 6 points and my last game was against Stuttgart ( Home game )

and Since M Haifa scored and won against me at my home game I let stuttgart beat me and go through >.< and watch M haifa crying xD

No I dont as I want to win. What team were you and how many points did you have before your last game.

I don't do it in the Champions League.

But in the SPL if I am already champions and I am playing a team that can finish second in the table...I tend to put out a weaker team against them so that they have a better chance at finishing above Rangers.

I usually field a weaker team but once the match starts I still go for the win.

I would maybe consider it if I could stop a really strong team from going through (ie. If Barcalona were 3rd and could only go through if the team I was playing lost.)...This though has never happened to date.

I normally play to win, no matter who plays, as I like keeping my win % as high as I can.

I always play to win, but I'll play some youngsters and backups near the end of the season if there's nothing much to play for.

This. Always put out a team I think can win though.

I try to win every champions league game, mean I'd be stupid to turn down £700,000 prize money for a single game.

I tend to play my reserves in games that I'm already safe in. Always good to give the first teamers a rest and reduce the chances of injury but I do want to see my backup players doing well as they are often youngsters I'm getting ready for the future

Fans are always moaning when you put out the kids and then you lose - not good

id love fans and the board to realise that, when you have won the league with say 5 games to go you put the youth team out to get a good look at them and not be so upset at losing!

The fans might moan a bit but it's hardly putting your job under threat. It's usually just a passing comment that doesn't have an impact on anything.

Having said that there are plenty of real life fans who do come out and complain any time their team loses regardless of the situation

i never said it was putting my job at risk, its just annoying when your board complains for 3 months cause your youth team lost 2-1 away to a team that finished 3rd, i was damn proud!

I think you will find that the majority of real fans (ie not the ones that follow a team just cause they win) would understand squad rotation once you have already secured the league, especially when you have the FA cup and CL final on the very near horizon...

At the end of the season if you have won the league and then go on to lose you last few games, the fans arent bothered, obviously happy that the club has won somethign despite the loss.

A similar thing should happen if you are playing the kids etc. If the kids performed admirable and got the quarter finals of the league cup then their achievement shoudl be recognised. Mabe the fans should only be upset if you get knocked out, as you should have played a stronger team (ie. not the kids)...

This is all difficult to work into the game though id imagine.

I once chucked a CL semi final to Liverpool in FM08 so they would beat Porto in the final and take Man Utd's 4th CL place as Liverpool had finished 5th or 6th. The next year Man U went bankrupt and were never a force again. Worked perfectly.

Did it recently. At Everton in a career save, and when I joined they were already through in the Europa League. Seeing as Celtic needed to win in our last game at Celtic Park to go through, I played practically an u-19's side, with a couple of guys needing games.

Lost 2-1 which suited me perfect.

Don't you get a fair wedge of cash each time you win(or draw) a group game?

I'm too much of a tightarse to give that away.

u get like 700k for winning a champions league game. with the debt i now have (new stadium cost) i cant afford to throw that sort of cash away.

i did once throw a game against luton though in the premier league so they would stay up. i like seeing small clubs do well

700k extra for 1 game is not something I would ever let just float by the window. I try to run at a profit, you know.
