Magicz
I'm managing Spurs and normally line up with a 4-4-2 diamond and I do very well against teams outside of the top 4, normally winning about 3 or 4 nil but I recently played Chelsea in the LC semi final and lost 6-1. I changed to 4-4-1-1 against Liverpool and played very well but I lost 1-0. I kept the formation because of how well we played but lost 2-1 to Manchester United. I then got beat 3-1 by Chelsea with an attacking 4-3-3. I now have to play Arsenal in the FA cup 4th round and Chelsea in the league and I need two decent results. Any tips? petey_g
Frankly it is tough to beat the big teams and normally you'll need a bit of luck. I tend to play a DM or Anchor Man against the big teams and go deep, slow, narrow, keep a rigid philosophy and play direct football, perhaps looking to hit them on the counter. At home I might be a bit more adventurous but not a lot. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - there's no guaranteed solution.

stevio11
Play 4-5-1 narrow but attacking, should help as it works for me everytime.
llama3
i play, deep, narrow, and encourage opposition wide players to stay wide (i.e. right winger onto right foot, left winger onto left foot etc), makes it hard to break through, and you tend to hit them on the break that way
