Undisclosed Fees

Why is it on FM you cannot sign a player on an undisclosed fee? Also how come other teams can set a bid/deal to private but we cannot do this controlling a team?

Undisclosed fees are a regular occurance now (in the UK anyway) so should be included in the game I think. You used to be able to keep you bid private and I am not sure why this was removed from the game.

I think that it's up to the selling club on whether not the bid is private. That's my understanding of it anyway.

Is it still the case that if the club is a PLC then any transfer fees must be made public?

Surely keeping a bid private, if the other team wishes to do so too, is an undisclosed fee. Of course you're going to know what it is as it's your club you are managing.

to be fair, these fees are undisclosed to the general public, but I imagine that it's easy for Alex Ferguson to find out how much Arsenal paid for Squillaci or whatever.

More or less.

It's only us (the public) who gets this "undisclosed" fee malarky. I'm sure between clubs they would know how much they paid. And obviously when we're managers in-game we're part of a club and so are privy to this information.
