SCIAG
Yes, but not as well as playing "full" football.
GioGio85
Any player who gets regualr football is going to benefit from having match sharpness. However 1st team experience benefits players as their mental stats can develop. having them in your team also enables you to have more say/control over how they develop
Krald
I know the scottish U19 teams were pretty crap for developing players in general. Can get some improvement from them but not the level I'm happy with, always end up having to play them in 1st team, but that's fairly easy as scotland is pretty low-quality league-wise. michaelthestrange
Okay I think my question might fit in here. I am currently managing Roma and have a Reserve squad (no fixtures) and a U20. I used to arrange friendlies for the reserves simply to keep my back up players more or less match fit. My assisstant manager though also drafts in some hot prospects from U20s who had played a match two days ago (e.g.). Now I was thinking about putting the youth players he heavily uses into the Reserve team straight away. My question now is whether Reserve friendlies are as good as U20 league fixtures in terms of development. Michael
