Martyr1777
There have been a couple threads along these lines recently, but I made a new one just to drive the point to SI. The injury system needs an overhaul, other then AI issues its the biggest failing point of the game. Example, my team just started the playoffs in the MLS and my star CB gets a strained wrist. Of course I get the option to give him an injection or leave it to the physio. The physio option keeps him out for 9-12 days, injection I'll get him for the next match, still at reduced condition, and will be out 2-3 weeks. I'm sorry but when you have an injury that doesn't affect a players stamina, legs, or head then that player will certainly be able to play especially in a big game. Put a nice brace on the wrist and you are good to go. If you don't believe that then look back at this years WC, Didier Drogba had a broken arm, got a specialty cast and approval to play with it and he even got himself a goal. So why is FM's injury system so generic? I can see a groin strain limiting a football player, but why is a wrist strain going to put my players condition at 60-70%? Everything about the system needs work, from this effect to the stat loss and regen system. I dread every time I see an injury because even the little ones have such a massive impact at times. So get a better system SI, I'd be looking at 11's first patch to at least implement some easy fixes.

james170288
Spot on OP, i've always been annoyed by the sprained wrist injuries affecting outfield players.
AndyRich
I found a new injury system ... :L It was a download on some random SI site. I forget which. If you want it ill send it to you if you pm me. It is supposed to make injury frequency more realistic and also give more precise name of the injurys. TheRealMagpies
We also regularly read in papers about x player taking injections so that he can play through the pain of a minor injury. Those reports seem to give the impression the players willingly have injections so that they can get match time. In FM ... never happens, as the player seems to react as if you just suggested he do something innapropriate with his sister .......

Daemon_Rising
I wholeheartedly agree with the OP One other thing I don't get is the following, if your player has the flu or a virus, you can select to send him to your physio, or send him home. Sending home would result in being out for 4-5 days, while sending to the physio would rule him out for 2-3 days... what the hell is it that the physio would do that is so magical? Massage the virus out of him? I have never understood this, as virus's tend to run their course, and the anti-biotics you take and the amount of rest you get, and vitamin c you take, and water you drink, are all small factors that can change your recovery time.... I just don't understand what the physio's do to affect recovery time?

I know the one you mean, I think GillsMan made it. Edit: here it is: http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/163936-RELEASED-GillsMan-s-New-Injuries-Model TheRealMagpies- in game, they'll generally agree to do it for the next match if it is appropriate, but not more than one match. OP: Good ideas. A bit late for 2011, but hopefully some or all can make it into a patch or FM2012.
-SL
Very clever thinking - SI should look into these. Also maybe some players could say they don't want to play - against smaller teams they decide they want to rest it.
vinsinaty
I d say either lower injury frequency, or lower player not playing first team complains. So we can have a squad where role of each player is known and accepted. Some are back up or 1st team players, some are back up of back ups (the youngest generally). The revamp I would like to see is about the news feed : everytime I have an injury I click the same choice : always specialist or home when available, then physio, and never injection. Anyway, I d like a default choice to be settable, like in teamtalks, and then I can modify or valid straight away, or like press conference/friendly's : leave it totally to my AssMan. Because it's more about an annoying feature to me.
DSYoungEsq
Actually, the thing that needs to be changed about injuries is that they have to start including injuries that reduce the constitution of the player (a la Drogba), but don't prevent the player from playing. Thus, your player never makes it to "red" status, just hangs out in the "orange" for a while.
