petey_g Posted August 31, 2010 Share Posted August 31, 2010 In both the quarter and semi finals of the Europa League I was drawn away in the first leg. In the quarters I lost 2-0 to Anderlecht, before winning 2-0 at home with 10 men in normal time, taking it to extra time and scoring 3 goals in extra time to win the match 5-0. In the 2nd leg I lost 2-0 against Man Utd and I thought there would be no way back and I'd have to settle for a place in the semi. But at home, went 3-0 up within 20 minutes and managed to shut them out for the rest of the game. My home form this season has not been anywhere near as good as my away form but it seems for the big European games they turn it on! Anyone else had a similar experience? I was Arsenal in the CL semi finals, I lost to Man United 5-0 in the first leg at Old Trafford, in the second leg we destroyed Man Utd with an 8-1 thrashing.
